Banker, Consultant, Philanthropist

Just a few titles that describe the scope of Andrea Mennillo. Born in Naples in 1962, Andrea was raised in an Italian family steeped in military tradition, where he learned about the value of discipline, hard work and public service from an early age.

He believes these qualities – and his education from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Università degli Studi di Lecce and INSEAD – helped to prepare him for the executive positions he held very early in his career, in the banking, finance and consulting sectors. In these roles, Andrea managed major acquisition transactions in Europe, where he has become known for his business acumen and innovative thinking.

While at Banca Popolare di Brescia (Bipop Carire), Andrea was responsible for transforming a small local bank into an international financial institution. Over the course of a few years, he led the bank’s implementation of a new multichannel banking model across Europe. With the slogan, “The bank where you want, when you want, how you want,” Bipop quickly became Italy’s first online bank, and a European leader in online trading and banking.

Subsequently, Andrea spent several years managing investments at La Centrale Finanziaria Generale, Italy’s oldest financial holding company, and being involved with the strategic repositioning of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti as a member of its Committee of Experts. He then decided to pursue more entrepreneurial ventures by taking on strategic consulting projects with F2i SGR, an Italian infrastructure fund, before establishing his Monaco-based asset management firm.

Beyond the business realm, Andrea has applied his innovative thinking to a number of public service projects that are in direct alignment with his values. He believes his deep Christian faith has given him clarity and purpose in his professional career as well as in his everyday life. Together with his family, Andrea began working with the Societas Jesu in 2002 to support its missionary work. Their intellectual and spiritual journey with the Jesuits took them to Burkina Faso in Africa, one of the poorest countries in the world, where they worked on several infrastructure improvement projects including one in the education field, a cause very close to Andrea’s heart. Results show these projects are having a tangible economic and social impact on the Burkinabé people.

Andrea and his wife, Brunella, have two children, Francesco and Giulia. He hopes to instill the same humanistic, intellectual and spiritual values in his children that have influenced his work thus far.
